Allison & Adam

This past year, I photographed quite a few traditional Jewish weddings, with Allison and Adam’s wedding as my second of the bunch. Also, this was my first time at the Geraghty! It did not disappoint – the Kehoe team has transformed the big warehouse into an elegant and versatile venue.

With both the bride and groom getting ready at Intercontinental, we took advantage of the great location, and spent the morning downtown. We took pictures along the Riverwalk (which was having an exceptionally pretty day even though the forecast called for rain!) before heading to Pilsen for the ceremony and reception.

Speaking of the ceremony and reception, one of my favorite things about photographing weddings is being able to experience and capture different traditions, and two of my absolute favorite traditions were present at Allison and Adam’s wedding.

First, I absolutely love the ketubah signing ceremony… I love the intimate quality of the gathering before the full ceremony. And, on the completely opposite end of the spectrum, I also adore the shtick, which is where friends put on a show for the bride and groom during the reception to entertain them. Needless to say, this was such a fun wedding for me to photograph!
